Hi, I’m Rachel Rivera, owner of Caring Transitions of Katy. Getting the call that your father has a rare cancer and just six weeks to live is devastating. Trying to soak up those last moments, manage his estate, and make those tough end-of-life decisions is crushing. Unfortunately, that’s been my experience and throughout that time, I wished for a service like Caring Transitions. After the passing of my father, I decided no one should have to manage their loved one’s estate and grieve simultaneously. That’s why I started Caring Transitions of Katy. I’ve spent the last 30 years in various healthcare administration roles, with the previous two and half years in the City of Houston’s Health Department as an Incident Commander. I was immersed in everything involving the COVID-19 pandemic and decided I needed to get out and go into business for myself. I am a certified relocation and transition specialist, specializing in seniors and a licensed Realtor of 17 years. I’m thrilled to dedicate my time to serving a population of underrepresented seniors and families in my community. We’re here to alleviate the stress that is caused by unexpected events. Our services will go far beyond what other traditional companies offer. Instead of connecting with individual estate sale companies, real estate agents, and relocation services, you can hire us to perform it all. On top of opening this business, I’ve been a real estate agent in the area for 17 years. Our services offer full real estate transactions that include selling your home as well as packing, moving, resettling, estate sales, relocation services, and downsizing. When I’m not working, you can find me on a Texas beach with my family. My husband and I have been married for over 20 years. We have a beautiful 11-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son, plus a boxer mix named Daisy (she really runs the house).
